About me

Hi I’m Mike Aughey and as you can see from the above photo I do have a greying beard. Who and what am I? Well first of all I’m a husband, father, grandfather, a retired physicist, a statistician, a historian, a sports coach educator, a sports performance analyst and maybe a philosopher. I have been a musician, a track and field coach, a cross country coach, a rugby league and a rugby union coach ( I’m not currently active in any of those roles but I’m still very interested in all of them).

I know it sounds a cliché but I do consider myself a Lifelong Learner and in fact since retirement I’ve probably been more active as a learner and in quite a variety of different areas. I’ve even returned to stuff I learned at school and in college and taken a fresh view
